communism is were the state owns the industrays and any profits made is used for the better good of the state and everyone has to work for the state e.g bussines men.

capitalism is were everyone is able to work for themeselves and the goverment lets them make as much money as they want and industrays and bussineses aren't owned by the state

cold war is were no actual fighting takes place and the relations between the countries become cold and there is still a threat of war

Domino theory was the forgien ploicy followed promoted by the goverment of the united states that speculated that if one land in the region came under the influence of communism then the surrondening countries would follow in the domino effect.e.g.there was a threat of communism in asia from vietnam and the USA belived that it would spread and all the countries would become communist in asia this would lead to russia having more power in that region.

Mon, 04 May 2009 10:44:29 -0700 nazi soviet pact http://ryanlong.posterous.com/nazi-soviet-pact-1 http://ryanlong.posterous.com/nazi-soviet-pact-1

have said that the Nazi-Soviet Pact was the single most important reason for the start of the Second World War. Would you agree with this judgement?

Appeasment

I agree with this to some extent, because starlin knew that germany was going to invade he thought that if he singned the agreament he could prospone war. Also the lack of trust between nations played a factor in the start of war.Starlin singed the pact with Germany because it benfitted him and the fact that germany offerd him controll of blatic nations, and the fact that britian kept delaying negoations.and basically germany was more powerful than britian also starlin feared an invasion from germany so Stalin believed the best way to of dealing with Germany was to form an alliance.the fact that chamberlian and starlin didnt trust each other, starlin belived that chamberlian would trick russia into fighting a war with germany on its on.Chamberlian belived that starlins views were in the best intrests of himself.

in conclusion i think the nazi soviet pact was and important factor for the start of a war.but many other thing's played a vitale role the lack of trust between nations and that starlin and chamberlain didn't trust each other caused promblems because this stoped biritan and russia forming an alliance what may of stopped some of hitlers actions if the pact wasn's agread i still think that war would of broke out sooner or later as it was in inevitable hitler was always going to do what he wanted

Mon, 04 May 2009 10:25:21 -0700 was neville Chamberliand responsible for ww2 http://ryanlong.posterous.com/was-neville-chamberliand-responsible-for-ww2 http://ryanlong.posterous.com/was-neville-chamberliand-responsible-for-ww2

Neville Chamberlain has been accused of being directly responsible for the Second World War. Would you agree that he is guilty of this?

I think that he is not fully responsible for world war 2. I think this because Hitler did sign some contracts saying that he will not invade anymore countrys if Neville Chamblen gave him these. This was called appeasment Neville Chamblen was constently appeasing Hitler. Hitler thought that Chamblen was to scared to do anything so he kept on taking more countrys. He was going to take Poland but Britain and France said, hold on a minute we have gave you alot of land if you take Poland we will declair war on you.

On the other hand Neville Chamblen was guilty to partly starting the war. This is because he just kept on appesing him he sould of just stop when he frist asked for land.
chamberlian belived that appeasing hitler was the best way to deal with things at the time but chamberlian knew that appeasing was like feeding a crocadile a piece of meat knowing fine well that you are going to be the last thing it eats.appeasment has never worked and it can only be used in the short term chamberlian knew this but the reason why he kept appeasing hitler was because he was to scared to fight a war.also chamberlian claimed that he had hitlers word that he would not invade anymore countries that turned out to be a lie and chamberlian should of knowing that he could not trust hitler.the fact that chamberlian didn't stand up to hitler may of encouraged hitler to go as this was a sign of weakness

in conclusion i think that chamberlain is to blame for the start of the war to some extent because hitler was a man who was going to do what ever he wanted anyway the fact that chamberlian appeased hitler showed weakness on chamberlains behalf and also may of encourged hitler to go on demanding land and taking over countries.appeasement showed that chamberlain was to scared to fight another war and the fact that britians army was weakend by the war did not help matters.on the otherhand chamberlain belived appeasing hitler was in the best intrests of the people they had just fought a war 20 years earlier and many people didnt want to go through another war agian.also britians army was weakend by the war appeasing hitler could prospone the war giving them time to rearm.chamberlain belived that if he kept appeasing hitler he may go away after a while

                                    APPEASMENT FAILS ONCE AGIAN

appeasment fails to save czechoslovkia as germany take over their country neville chamberlin shows how scared he is to face up to a twisted dicator.germany will feel invisible and this lack of authority may encourage germany to go on and claim more territory from vanurible countries, this shows that no country what is not cable of deffending it's self is safe from the great super power germany as they are been giving everything they want no questions asked hitler claimed he invade czechosolvikia as he felt they were a risk towards germany's deffence

here is a picture of the invasion

Czechoslovkia must feel betrayed basically to prevent war and retian world peace what most of europe wants their coutry has  been given away to germany by the big 4 because they are to weak to fight another war agian.and the worst thing is they had no say on what would happen to their beloved country

Mon, 20 Apr 2009 15:30:02 -0700 Rise of hitler http://ryanlong.posterous.com/rise-of-hitler-4 http://ryanlong.posterous.com/rise-of-hitler-4

how did hitler come to power

in theory the munich putch was going to be a glorious uprsing agianst the weimar goverment by 1923 hitler was leader of the nazi party with inflation running high hitler thought it was time for he's party to try and sieze control in germany. With a group of ex soldiers the nazis plotted to seize control of munich and then stage a march on berlin.

in reality it was a disaster for the nazi party they had not planned things carefully enough hitler ended up losing his nerve in the end and spent most of his time making speaches to his own suppourters in a beer hall
when hitler was persuaded to lead the march they ran away alough hitler was arrested two days later

hitler means he wants to destroy democacy so that it is not a promblem

hitler did well in the 1932 election because the wall street crash had just took place a few years earlier and everyone was suffering e.g the econmy, hitler captilished on this and made very attractive promises he promised jobs sort out the economy and make germany proud and strong agian

why did people vote for hitler

very attractive promises he promised jobs sort out the economy and make germany proud and strong agian

he reichstag is the german parliment building and it was set on fire in 1933

the communists were feared by many germans and this could benfit hitlers party gaining the vote

people suppourted hitler because he promised them jobs and to make germany strong and great agian

hitler blamed all the promblems on them

hitler promised all groups of society things e.g farmers higher prices for their produce making up for all their losses during the depression also unemployed workers jobs building public works such as roads and stadiums and finally the middle class to restore the profits of small business and the value of savings and to end the communist threat

nazi belifs

reARM germany and retake what was lost at versailles

the german race blonde blue eyed aryans were a superior race any one else was racially impure and should be removed form germany

the master race needed more living spaced

Fri, 27 Mar 2009 05:55:00 -0700 Treaty of versiale 5w's http://ryanlong.posterous.com/treaty-of-versiale-5ws http://ryanlong.posterous.com/treaty-of-versiale-5ws
The Treaty Of Versailles took place between 1919 and 1920. The Treaty Of Versailles was a set up after the war to try and prevent future war. The main people involved were David Lloyd George (Britain), Woodrow Wilson (USA), Georges Clemenceau (France) and Vittorio Orlando (Italy) although he soon left when he was denied the land he had been promised.
The Treaty was held in Paris. The treaty was also designed to stop  Germany  starting a war again so the meeting was about what restrictions should be placed on germany.
Many of the countries wanted to punish germany but also keep things in the best intrest to themsleves
Overall, Germany were very affected. They had to accept responsibility for the war as well as pay reparations of £6.6billion,which they had to pay in reperations or they could pay in items . The Germans were also restricted on their military, not being allowed any air force, tanks or submarines and only being allowed 15,000 men in their navy, 100,000 in their army and a limited number and size of naval ships. A league of nations was set up and the rhineland was demilitarised, meaning that the Germans could not have any military in the Rhineland.

Fri, 27 Mar 2009 05:33:51 -0700 Wall street crash http://ryanlong.posterous.com/wall-street-crash-5 http://ryanlong.posterous.com/wall-street-crash-5

The wall street crash caused many promblems every one was effected by it.for example the usa is poorer because of wall St crash this would consquently stop america loaning money to other countries. Also the USA would raise the price of there goods to make money back they have lost.this would lead to other countries not being able to afford their goods.Unemployment would increase because less jobs would be avialble with compaines going bust and no one could afford to hire. The USA would not be able to afford goods from other countries making their econmy suffer,Prices would fall on goods in other countries. The usa put taxes on their goods to protect their companies from cheap imports this could prevent some companies going bust.Consequently the Wall street crash effected every country

Fri, 27 Feb 2009 02:53:00 -0800 manchurian crisis http://ryanlong.posterous.com/manchurian-crisis-7 http://ryanlong.posterous.com/manchurian-crisis-7

Japan was one of the most powerful nations until the wallstreet crash and it effected their trading with countrys.so they felt they had to invade manchuria to make more money.

Alough it was japans army who invaded and not the goverment who orderd the invasion.china went to the league to solve the promblem.but japan left the league before any sanctions could be placed on them this showed how weak the league was and that it wasn't succesful at dealing with agressive nations,

Japan decided to try and invade china and take the city Shanghai.once agian china went to the league but the league was useless once agian.japan let the league know it had intentions of withdraw on march 2nd 1933 but this was on their on terms

Fri, 30 Jan 2009 02:59:00 -0800 league of nations http://ryanlong.posterous.com/league-of-nations-10 http://ryanlong.posterous.com/league-of-nations-10

the league of nations was an organzation set up by woodrow wilson(us presidant) it was set up to prevent future wars and conflicts between countrys.the idea was if two countries had promblem they could go to the league and discuss the problem.this would be done in the leagues parliment and they would listen to the dispute and come to a decsion on how to proced.if a nation was seen to be the offender, the league could introduce verbial sanctions.basically telling them to leave another countries territory or face the consequences.if the offender ignored the league of nations, they could be hit with econmic sancations this would be arranged by the leagues council.the aim of the sancation was to fincially hit the aggersor nation so that it would have to do as the league said.the league of nations was based in geneva, switzerland because it was a netural country and did not fight in world war 1.the main members of the league were britian and france japan ,germay alough they were not aloud to join until 1933 also russia joined in 1934.the league of nation disolved in 1946.now the united nations is in place to deal with future conflicts and wars

Fri, 12 Dec 2008 02:59:00 -0800 treaty of versiale promblems http://ryanlong.posterous.com/treaty-of-versiale http://ryanlong.posterous.com/treaty-of-versiale

http://classtools.net/my/diamond916433treaty_of_versailles___problems.htm

i have put these statments in this order because i think its the correct order they should be in you can view the statments by the link above.I think the setting up of the league of nations was very important because it was set up to prevent future war and i think that is very important alough the league failed and wasn't very influencial or powerful.

After that i think it was important for the reparations' Germany had to pay to the Allies they were very high reparations of £6,600m.but in the end it is justice for the damage and lives they cost .and the countrys effected deserved money for the damages because their econmys were strongly affected by the war.

next i have placed the he Treaty of Brest-Litovsk that ended Russia's involvement in WWI meant huge areas of land were given to Germany. this in a way is an important factor because germany is gaining a large amount of land and i think that is a bounus for them.

next is the The end of the Austro-Hungarian empire led to nationalist uprisings calling for independence across Eastern Europe.this is important because it lead to other countrys being created and consequentley may not of happend if the war didnt start.

The secret Treaty of London (1915) between the Allies and Italy was not upheld at the Paris Peace Conference.i think this shows how other nations feel they need to discuss some stuff between themselves and that other nations are better left out

next is britian realising the treatys to be a mistake because this shows that powerful nations think the treatys are a waste of time and are doing more harm than good and basically other nations will think the same

Public opinion back home in the countries of the 'Big 3' meant huge pressures on Clemenceau, Wilson & Lloyd George.this didnt really apply much preasure because the big 3 would only agree on things what really benfited them and not the public only clemenceau because he made promise to his people

Woodrow Wilson persuaded representatives from France and Britain to support the principle of self-determination.this is really important because its only what woodrow wilson wanted and france and britian only would agree because they could get america to back them up on something

lastley the The 'Big 3' wanted different things from the Paris Peace Conference. this is obviuos because the big 3 will want different things from the treatys that are in there best intrests and that will benfit them and for example frances leader george cleamancal wanted to make germany suffer as much as possible because he promised his people back home he would and that was the main reason he was elected

The suffragettes (The Women’s Social And Political Union)

The suffragettes were founded by Emmeline Pankhurst in 1903.the suffragettes wanted the vote for women so bad that they would do anything to get it.they would break windows chain themselves to the railings outside of Buckingham Palace and would interrupt the political meetings of MPs.they would march in the street aswell and also set fires to buildings. the suffragettes had a news paper called the suffragette. One of the suffragettes attacked winston churchill on a train. The suffragettes eventually won the vote for women in 1918.

The suffragists (The National Union Of Woman’s Suffrage)

The suffragists were founded by Milicent Fawcett in 1897.they were also trying to get the vote for women.but they were doing it using peaceful persuasive tacticts, the would hold public mettings and pitions and write letters asking for the vote.alough these methods were peaceful they werent getting noticed much like the suffragettes were.the tactics they were using to get the vote would have eventually worked but would of taken a long time
