nazi soviet pact

have said that the Nazi-Soviet Pact was the single most important reason for the start of the Second World War. Would you agree with this judgement?

Appeasment

I agree with this to some extent, because starlin knew that germany was going to invade he thought that if he singned the agreament he could prospone war. Also the lack of trust between nations played a factor in the start of war.Starlin singed the pact with Germany because it benfitted him and the fact that germany offerd him controll of blatic nations, and the fact that britian kept delaying negoations.and basically germany was more powerful than britian also starlin feared an invasion from germany so Stalin believed the best way to of dealing with Germany was to form an alliance.the fact that chamberlian and starlin didnt trust each other, starlin belived that chamberlian would trick russia into fighting a war with germany on its on.Chamberlian belived that starlins views were in the best intrests of himself.

in conclusion i think the nazi soviet pact was and important factor for the start of a war.but many other thing's played a vitale role the lack of trust between nations and that starlin and chamberlain didn't trust each other caused promblems because this stoped biritan and russia forming an alliance what may of stopped some of hitlers actions if the pact wasn's agread i still think that war would of broke out sooner or later as it was in inevitable hitler was always going to do what he wanted

This is an 'E' grade response, Ryan - mainly because it's far too short. You need to include reasons why the USSR didn't sign a treaty with Britain (remember the SCAB mnemonic?) and how other factors such as Appeasement played a role.

Oh, and it's 'Stalin'!
